Language Explorer Summer Camp
This is an all day camp for grades 6-11. Students gain experience in university-level project based learning. While having fun with constructing their own language, students will gain transferable knowledge/skills: geography, history, computer skills, physics of sound, problem-solving skills, dealing with data.
Learn and write in various scripts such as Hindi, Chinese, and Korean. Learn about different parts of language like language sounds, how words are constructed, and learn how languages are created for T.V. and the movies.
Become a Language tourist and experience the world! Learn about languages and speakers the world over. Try out the sounds, learn short phrases, and how to write different scripts. Guest lectures by UNT faculty and international students. Learn about Invented languages like Elvish and Yoda-speak. Use language analysis software to create a dictionary and phrasebook of a language you invent!

Time of Camp: 9:00am to 4:00pm
Add ons to be selected upon registration: Early drop-off 7:00am - 8:45am and/or Late pick-up 4:15pm-6:00pm
Early drop-off/Late pickup will have a $100 fee for each with a quantity of one(1) to allot for families enrolling multiple participants.
This fee is for the entire week. We unfortunately cannot designate specific days for early drop off and/or late pickup.
