As the final event of UNT’s 2021 Campus Race to Zero Waste, we invite UNT students to reimagine celebrations and festivities with an eco-friendly mindset by opting for biodegradable confetti and recruiting peers and friends to reduce their waste in ways that are manageable to them.
Schedule a time to safely pick up a packet of biodegradable confetti (compliments of the Center for Leadership and Service and the We Mean Green Fund) and find something to celebrate whether it be an upcoming graduation, birthday, monumental accomplishment, or other special occasion! Choosing an Earth kind, biodegradable alternative to plastic confetti and glitter for your celebratory photo op is a sure way to making a difference for our environment. Plastic confetti litters our landscape, pollutes our precious water supply, and harms animals who confuse litter for food. We could all use a little celebration, so show your UNT pride and lead by example with this sustainable option for celebrations!
